The Municipal Chief Executive for Ketu North, Hon. Martin Amenaki, says the assembly has secured support to build a new 20-seater WC toilet for residents of Zongo Junction, Dzodze after the existing public toilet was marked for demolition under the Big Push Road Project.
Speaking on site, the MCE explained that the toilet earmarked for demolition is the only public toilet serving the entire electoral area.

According to Hon. Amenaki, the Assemblyman drew his attention to the situation and pleaded with the assembly to intervene so residents would not be left without a place of convenience.
“Since the assembly alone could not do it as expected, I quickly called the contractor and pleaded with him to support the electoral area as part of his corporate social responsibility to the people of Zongo Junction,” he said.
The contractor responded by donating GH₵100,000 to support the construction of a new facility. The MCE said he immediately handed the money over to the Assemblyman to procure materials.
The MCE added that because the amount will not be enough to complete the project, he made a second appeal to the contractor.
The contractor has now provided equipment for clearing the site and digging.
Site clearing is currently ongoing. The Assemblyman will use part of the funds to buy materials, while the community will contribute through communal labour.
“When they finish clearing, we will reconstruct a twenty-seater WC here for the people of Zongo Junction to use, instead of this old dilapidated one which will be demolished soon because the road is to pass through there,” Hon. Amenaki stated.
He thanked the contractor for listening to the plea and urged residents to support the communal labour effort to complete the project on time.
