The Akatsi South Municipal Assembly has distributed income-generating items to Persons With Disabilities in the municipality to support their livelihoods and promote economic independence.
The items, which included tools and equipment for trade and business, were presented to beneficiaries as part of efforts to empower PWDs and improve their living standards.
Municipal authorities said the support is in line with government policy to ensure that persons with disabilities are not left behind in development and job creation initiatives.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Assembly for the gesture, noting that the items will help them start and expand small businesses to earn sustainable incomes.
Officials further assured that more support programs will be rolled out to assist vulnerable groups in the municipality.
