Dekpor, Ketu North – 24Hour News – July 14, 2026 – The abandoned Fish Ponds at Dekpor in the Ketu North Constituency are set to become operational again after months of advocacy by the area’s MP, Hon. Eric Edem Agbana.
In a statement, Hon. Agbana announced that an investor has been secured to partner with GIDA to revive the scheme, which has been defunct for many years.
“Been a minute here. We thank God for life. I’m happy to announce that, after months of pitching the potential of the abandoned Fish Ponds at Dekpor, we have finally secured an investor to partner with GIDA to revive operations,” the MP said.
According to him, major renovation works have been underway for the last 6 weeks and operations are expected to begin soon.
Hon. Agbana added that the project will create over 100 direct and indirect jobs for the youth and women of Ketu North, while significantly boosting economic activity across the constituency.
The revival is expected to restore livelihoods, increase fish production in the area, and attract further agribusiness investments to Ketu North.
