
KETA, Aug. 7, 24HourNews – The Keta Municipal Assembly, through the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, has conducted elections to select new representatives of the Ghana Federation of Disability Organizations (GFD) for the Keta Municipality.
The election, held on Thursday under the theme _“Strengthening Disability Inclusion Through Democratic Representation and Effective Advocacy,”_ was peaceful, transparent and credible.

Mr. Godsway Mensah was elected President of the GFD, Keta Municipality. The other elected executives are Miss Sandra Doamekpor as Vice President, Mr. Elorm Tamakloe as Youth Representative, and Madam Peace Sabah as Gender Representative.
As part of the programme, participants received education on disability advocacy, the GFD Constitution, election guidelines, and the responsibilities of municipal representatives.

The Keta Municipal Assembly said the exercise forms part of efforts to promote the active participation of persons with disabilities in local governance and development.

The Assembly has congratulated Mr. Mensah and his executive team and wished them a successful tenure as they champion disability inclusion and advocacy for persons with disabilities across the municipality.
