
HO, May 6, 2026 – A delegation from the Volta Regional Queen Mothers’ Association, led by Mamaga Sename III, has paid a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, to formally introduce their newly constituted executives and discuss issues affecting their communities.
During the meeting, the Queen Mothers commended the Minister for his leadership and expressed their readiness to support the government’s development agenda in the region. They also highlighted key challenges confronting their respective areas and called for urgent attention and intervention.

In response, James Gunu welcomed the delegation and acknowledged the critical role Queen Mothers play in promoting social cohesion, cultural values, and community development. He stressed the need for closer collaboration between the Association, the Volta Regional House of Chiefs, and the Volta Regional Coordinating Council to strengthen peace, unity, and sustainable development across the region.
The engagement underscored a shared commitment between traditional authorities and government to work together in addressing developmental needs and improving the livelihoods of people in the Volta Region.
