Klikor Traditional Council Sets October 24 For Burial Of Late Paramount Chief Torgbiga Addo VIII

Klikor, Volta Region – 24Hour News – August 4, 2026 – The Klikor Traditional Council has announced 24th October, 2026 as the date for the final funeral rites and burial of the late Paramount Chief and President of the Klikor Traditional Council, Torgbiga Addo VIII.

In a letter dated 27th July, 2026, the ruling Fiaga of Klikor Traditional Area, Torgbiga Addo IX (PhD, DCOP RTD), informed citizens of the passing of the late King.

According to the statement, Torgbiga Addo VIII served Klikor and Ghana for Forty-Four (44) years with steadfast dedication to promoting peace, education and development.
“His wise counsel and devotion to customs and tradition would be deeply missed,” the statement said.

The burial will take place at Klikor in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region, Ghana.

Torgbiga Addo IX has appealed to all benevolent citizens of the Klikor Traditional Area to support preparations for the funeral to enable the Council to “give a befitting burial to our King.”
