Ghana Medical Trust Fund Begins Nationwide Sensitisation Tour In Western Region

Sekondi, Oct. 7, 24HourNews – The promise of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund must reach the people it was created to serve, and that begins with ensuring that they know about the support available and how to access it.

The Fund has begun its nationwide sensitisation tour, with the first stop in the Western Region.

The tour is being led by its Administrator, Obuobia Darko-Opoku, together with her team.

As part of the activities, the team paid a courtesy visit to the Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, to share the purpose of the tour and the importance of reaching communities with clear information about the Trust Fund.

The team expressed appreciation to Joseph Nelson for the warm reception and the opportunity to engage ahead of the public sensitisation activities in the region.

Through the tour, the Ghana Medical Trust Fund will help the public understand its mandate, who qualifies for support and how eligible patients can access assistance for specialised care for chronic non-communicable diseases.

According to the Fund, for families facing the burden of these conditions, knowing where to turn can make all the difference.

The team noted that it is taking the message across Ghana, one region at a time, to ensure that no eligible Ghanaian is left behind.

The initiative, popularly known as MahamaCares, is aimed at providing financial support for specialised medical care for Ghanaians living with chronic non-communicable diseases.
