Black Stars Head Coach Carlos Queiroz Sacked

Accra, Oct. 1 – The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has parted ways with Black Stars Head Coach Carlos Queiroz following a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.

The decision brings an end to the Portuguese trainer’s stint as head coach of the senior national team.

Sources within the GFA indicate that the decision was taken after extensive consultations, with both parties agreeing that ending the professional relationship was in the best interest of Ghana football.

Queiroz, who was appointed with the mandate to rebuild the Black Stars and nurture local talent, had come under pressure in recent months over the team’s performance.

His departure comes at a critical time for Ghana football, with major international assignments on the horizon.

The GFA is expected to announce interim technical arrangements in the coming days while the search for a new substantive head coach begins.

Further details on the terms of the separation and the future direction of the Black Stars are expected to be communicated officially by the Association.
