It Has Been An Honour To Serve Ghana – Carlos Queiroz Bids Farewell To Black Stars

Accra, Oct. 1 – Black Stars Coach Carlos Queiroz has issued a farewell message to Ghana following the termination of his contract with the national team.

In an emotional statement, the Portuguese tactician said the decision to part ways was not an easy one but was mutually agreed upon in the best interest of Ghana football.

“This was not an easy decision, but both parties agreed that, under the present circumstances, ending our professional relationship was the most appropriate course of action, with the interests of Ghana, the Black Stars and Ghanaian football above everything else,” Queiroz stated.

He expressed gratitude to the Ghana Football Association and its President for the trust reposed in him to lead the senior national team.

“It has been an honour to serve Ghana and the Black Stars. I sincerely thank the Ghana Football Association and particularly its President for their trust and for the opportunity to lead such a proud football nation,” he said.

Queiroz noted that he arrived in Ghana with a clear mission to build a stronger future for the Black Stars and to help develop the country’s abundant football talent.

“I came to Ghana determined to help build a stronger future for the Black Stars and support the development of the country’s talent. Despite our commitment and efforts, the necessary conditions were not fully established, and our recent performance added to the decision to bring this journey to an end,” he added.

The experienced coach concluded his message with words of respect and appreciation for the country.

“I leave with respect, gratitude and pride,” Queiroz said.
