Ada, Sept. 30, 24HourNews – Vodza Iron Breakers forward Eric Kpogo has received a late call-up to the Ghana National Beach Soccer Team, the Black Sharks, following his impressive display in the 2025 Beach Soccer Premier League final.
Kpogo was in fine form on Sunday at the Ada Beach Soccer Arena where Iron Breakers defeated Sea Sharks 4-1 to emerge national champions. His performance is said to have impressed the national team technical team who were at the venue to watch the final.
The invitation is considered a reward for his consistent performances for the Keta-based side throughout the season.
He is expected to link up with the rest of the squad in camp as preparations continue for an upcoming international engagement.
The Black Sharks are currently in camp preparing for a two-legged qualifier against Nigeria. The first leg is scheduled for October 10, 2026, in Lagos, while the second leg will be played at the Emancipation Beach Arena at Keta in the Volta Region.
The return leg at Keta is expected to draw a large crowd, especially after Iron Breakers’ league victory which has increased interest in beach soccer in the Volta Region.
With Kpogo’s inclusion, Vodza Iron Breakers now have three players in the Black Sharks camp, including goal king Wise Nyamadi. The club’s management, led by CEO Joshua Kukuia, has congratulated the player and wished the national team success against Nigeria.
