Dzodze, Sept. 29, 24HourNews – The Dzodze Deza Central Planning Committee in collaboration with Edy’s Promotions has officially opened entries for the 2026 edition of the Mama Deza beauty pageant.
The pageant is one of the flagship events of the annual Dzodze Deza festival, which celebrates the culture, history and unity of the people of Dzodze.
This year’s call, which was announced last week, is inviting young women who are natives and residents of Dzodze to participate. According to the organizers, applicants must be knowledgeable about the history and culture of Dzodze and be passionate about its development.
Mama Deza is more than a beauty contest. It is a cultural platform that seeks to select a queen who will serve as an ambassador for Dzodze, promote its traditions, and lead advocacy on issues affecting women and youth in the area.
The winner for 2026 will be crowned during the Deza festivities and will take over from the current queen, Beauty Sedinam Kassah. She is expected to champion cultural education and community development projects throughout her reign.
The organizers say the competition will include screening, grooming, and tasks that will test contestants on their knowledge of Dzodze customs, language, public speaking and leadership.
