Denu, Sept. 28, 24HourNews – The race for the Vice Chairmanship of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu South Constituency is gaining momentum as one of the frontrunners, Dan K. Jerry Sorokpo, has picked the number one spot on the ballot.
Mr. Sorokpo, a committed and long-standing member of the party in the constituency, is heading into the elections with a clear message centered on Jobs, Accessibility and Welfare.
His campaign, which has already gained traction at the branch level, is anchored on four key pillars aimed at revitalizing the party’s grassroots structures.
According to his campaign team, Mr. Sorokpo intends to push for a comprehensive welfare scheme for Ketu South branch executives who they say are the backbone of the party but often neglected after elections.
Secondly, he plans to strengthen policy initiatives and research support to equip communicators and branch leaders with credible data and policy alternatives to effectively propagate the party’s message.
Thirdly, his agenda places youth empowerment at the heart of his leadership, with plans to lobby and create opportunities for skill training, employment and active participation of the youth in party activities.
Speaking in an interview, Mr. Sorokpo said his decision to contest for the Vice Chairman position is not for personal glory but to offer selfless, accessible and results-oriented leadership.
“I have served the party at various levels and I understand the challenges our branch executives face. My coming is to ensure that every branch executive feels valued and that our party becomes more attractive to the youth. I am accessible, I am a team player, and I will work with all to secure victory for the NDC,” he stated.
Delegates across the constituency have described him as a unifier and a grassroots man whose leadership style is calm, inclusive and development-driven.
He is therefore appealing to all delegates to vote massively for him as number one on the ballot for a best and better Vice Chairmanship that will prioritize welfare, accessibility and jobs.
His message to delegates is simple: “For better branch executive welfare, press number one. For better policy and research support, press number one. For better youth empowerment, press number one. Let us do this together, victory is loading.”
The Ketu South Constituency election is expected to be keenly contested as the NDC re-organizes its base towards the 2028 general elections.
