Torgbui Dzable Adukpo IV Joined By Other Chiefs During 10th Galiza Durbar At Ehi  

Ehi, Sept. 27, 24HourNews – The Divisional Chief of Ehi, Torgbui Dzable Adukpo IV, was joined by other chiefs and queen mothers in Ehi during the colourful durbar to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Galiza Festival at the EP Basic School Park.

The milestone celebration brought together traditional authorities from across Ehi and Ketu North to celebrate a decade of promoting culture and the pride of gari production.

Chiefs, queen mothers, elders, farmers, gari processors and traders all took part in the durbar, which was held under the theme, Reflecting on the Past, Planning the Future.

The event was graced by the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, the Municipal Chief Executive of Ketu North, Rev. Martin Amenaki, the Municipal Coordinating Director, staff of the Assembly, and leadership of the NDC in Ketu North.

Torgbui Dzable Adukpo IV, who has been at the forefront of sustaining the Galiza since its inception in 2016, was commended for his exemplary leadership in organizing the 10-year anniversary in a colourful and memorable manner.

In his address, Rev. Amenaki thanked Torgbui Dzable Adukpo IV and all participating chiefs for their unity and commitment to preserving the culture of Ehi and promoting development.

To support the organization of the festival, the MCE announced a donation of GHC 5,000. The Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Hon. Eric Edem Agbana, donated GHC 25,000, while the National leadership of the NDC through National Chairman Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia donated GHC 20,000.

The Galiza, also known as Ehi Nutome Gali Za, has grown over the past decade into a major cultural and economic festival that celebrates the agro-economic importance of gari and the industrious spirit of the people of Ehi.
