Ho, Sept. 24, 24HourNews – The debate over the state of the Ho Sports Stadium pitch has intensified, with Eric Eli Adzie responding directly to sports journalist Francis Agboyibor’s recent criticism of the facility.
In his response, Adzie said he did not twist Agboyibor’s post but rather tagged him directly and engaged him on the issues raised.
“If people twist your post, me dier I tagged you and spoke to you directly. Your post is baseless and needless. Your emphatic statements made in your original post are unforgiving and apologetic,” he stated.
Adzie accused Agboyibor of engaging in pure conjecture without basis.
“You were engaged in pure conjecture. Me I tagged you directly and question you on the things you said. Question me also on mine,” he said.
He further argued that Agboyibor had no justification to describe an entire entity as a disgrace and urged him to speak on issues without painting a false picture.
“You have no locus to call an entire entity a Disgrace my brother. Speak your mind on the issue without attempting to paint a picture that isn’t real,” Adzie noted.
Questioning Agboyibor’s familiarity with the current state of the stadium, Adzie asked when he last visited the facility.
“Who doesn’t know the nature of the Ho Sports Stadium? When last did you visit there? That was during the middle league. You don’t think an upgrade is positive from that time till today?” he quizzed.
He insisted that the claims made were speculative and that Agboyibor ought to know better.
“These are pure conjecture and you ought to know better Francis,” he added.
Adzie concluded that he was not among those catching feelings over the issue, stressing that he tagged Agboyibor directly just as the journalist had expressed his opinion publicly.
“If someone elsewhere is catching feelings, that person no be me cos me dier I tagged you for you to read my post just as you opin publicly,” he said.
The exchange comes after Agboyibor’s post questioning the quality of the playing surface at the Ho Sports Stadium, which has since generated heated reactions within the Volta sporting fraternity.
