MP For Keta Hon. Kwame Dzidzorli Gakpey & NADMO Donate Relief Items To Flood Victims In Four Communities

The Member of Parliament for Keta, Hon. Kwame Dzidzorli Gakpey, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), has donated relief items to residents of four flood-affected communities in the Keta Constituency.

The beneficiary communities visited were Anyako Seva, Kedzikope, Anlo Afiadenyigba, and Havedzi.

Items donated to the victims included rice, fry oil, bales of nuts, basins, buckets, blankets, mattresses, and Wellington boots.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Gakpey commended NADMO for its swift response to the disaster and reaffirmed Government’s commitment to ensuring that the relief items are distributed promptly, transparently, and fairly to all affected persons.

“Our people have lost homes, farms, and belongings to the floods. This support is to help them get back on their feet while we pursue long-term interventions,” the MP stated.

Hon. Gakpey also appealed to individuals, corporate bodies, faith-based organisations, non-governmental organisations, and other stakeholders to partner with Government by donating relief items and other forms of assistance to complement ongoing efforts.

“We cannot do this alone. I urge all well-meaning Ghanaians and partners to come on board so we can help affected families recover from the devastating effects of the floods,” he added.

NADMO officials who joined the MP assured residents that distribution of the items would begin immediately, with priority given to the most vulnerable households.

Community leaders and beneficiaries from the four towns expressed gratitude to the MP and NADMO, describing the intervention as timely and much needed.
