IGP Promotes Police Officer For Saving Lives During Aboso Fire Outbreak.

Aboso – Aug. 29 – 24HourNews – The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted Inspector Hance Atubra of the Tarkwa Divisional Headquarters to the rank of Chief Inspector for his role in saving lives during a fire outbreak at Aboso in the Western Region.

The fire outbreak occurred on August 26, 2026, where some shops at the Aboso Main Lorry Station were engulfed in flames, resulting in damage to properties.

Inspector Atubra, who was the first police officer to arrive at the scene, immediately took action to assist people trapped in the affected area and helped to evacuate the victims to safety.

His actions were highly commended by eyewitnesses, leading to a recommendation for his promotion in recognition of his courage, quick response and efforts to save lives and property.

The promotion, according to the Police Administration, underscores its commitment to recognising and rewarding officers who demonstrate exceptional courage, dedication and commitment to duty.
