Aflao, Oct. 7, 24HourNews – The Ketu South Municipal Assembly has received over GH¢40.26 million from the District Assemblies Common Fund, DACF, according to figures disclosed by the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga.
The Minister made the disclosure during the Government Accountability Series, where he outlined increased financial transfers to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, MMDAs, across the country.
Presenting the breakdown, the Minister indicated that Ketu South received GH¢18.44 million during the first three quarters of 2025.
This was followed by an additional GH¢21.82 million covering the fourth quarter of 2025 and the first two quarters of 2026, bringing the total to over GH¢40.26 million.
The revelation has sparked renewed public interest in Ketu South, with residents calling for transparency and accountability on how the funds have been utilised.
The large allocation has raised key questions among the populace regarding visible development projects, programmes and services financed with the money.
The development comes at a time when government is pushing for greater accountability at the local level, directing MMDCEs to organise regular accountability engagements to allow residents to scrutinise public spending.
For Ketu South, stakeholders including residents, traditional leaders, assembly members and civil society organisations are expected to demand a detailed account of projects executed and the impact of the over GH¢40 million received by the Assembly.
24HourNews will continue to monitor developments and provide updates as the Assembly provides clarity on the utilisation of the funds.
