Akatsi, Oct. 7, 24HourNews – The Akatsi South Municipal Education Directorate has joined the rest of the world to salute teachers for their dedication and sacrifice in shaping the future of children.
The Directorate, in a message to mark this year’s World Teachers’ Day, commended teachers in the municipality for their commitment to duty, professionalism and resilience despite the challenges they face.
The Municipal Director of Education, Mr Karim Ayaana Umar, said teachers remain the backbone of Ghana’s education system and deserve recognition for their pivotal role in national development.
He noted that teachers continue to mould lives, nurture talents and lay the foundation for every profession, stressing that their contributions cannot be overemphasized.
Mr Umar said the Directorate appreciates the hard work of teachers, especially those serving in deprived and hard-to-reach communities within Akatsi South, who go the extra mile to ensure that learning never stops.
He urged teachers to continue to uphold high professional standards, exhibit decent dressing, discipline and innovative teaching methods to improve learning outcomes.
He also assured teachers that management remains committed to supporting their welfare, professional growth and capacity building.
The Directorate outlined a series of activities to mark the day, including public lectures on stress management, career upgrading and leave management, to be facilitated by experienced resource persons from the education sector.
Teachers across the municipality have been encouraged to participate fully in the activities as the nation celebrates their invaluable service to Ghana.
World Teachers’ Day, instituted by UNESCO, UNICEF, ILO and Education International, is celebrated annually on October 5 to celebrate the teaching profession and promote the status of teachers worldwide.
