People Of Dzodze Successfully Launch Deza 2026 With Call For Unity And Development

Dzodze, Oct. 6, 24HourNews – The people of Dzodze have successfully launched the 2026 edition of the Deza Festival.

The launch ceremony took place on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Dzodze under the auspices of the Dzodze Deza Central Planning Committee (CPC) and the Dzodze Traditional Council.

The event was led by the Acting President of the Dzodze Traditional Council, Torgbui Ege IV, who called on all citizens to embrace the festival as a tool for unity and development.

This year’s celebration is on the theme: “Harnessing Potentials of our cultural heritage to foster Peace, unity and promote socio-economic development.”

According to the organizers, the theme seeks to use the rich cultural heritage of Dzodze to foster peace, promote unity and accelerate socio-economic development of the area.

As part of the launch, the Planning Committee unveiled a ten-day programme outline for the festival which will run from Thursday, 22nd October to Sunday, 1st November, 2026.

Activities lined up include opening and spiritual dedication, community clean-up, trade fair, health walk and screening, youth empowerment forum, traditional cultural displays, sports, education programmes, street carnival, fashion and enterprise, business engagements and talent exhibitions.

The climax will be on Saturday, 31st October with the Grand Durbar of chiefs and people at the Deza Durbar Ground at 9:00 AM, followed by Artistes Night / Deza Sains at 8:00 PM.

The festival will be climaxed on Sunday, 1st November with a Thanksgiving Service.

The Traditional Council and the CPC have called on all Dzodze citizens home and abroad to participate fully and support the festival to make it a grand success.
