Ho, Oct. 4, 24HourNews – The Warlord of the Asogli State, Togbe Adzie Lakle Howusu XII, says government has the people of Ho and the Volta Region at heart.

He said this when he addressed the grand durbar to climax the 2026 Asogli Te Za Yam Festival at the Jubilee Park in Ho on Saturday, October 3.

According to him, the Asogli State is grateful to President John Dramani Mahama and his government for not leaving the area out of the national development agenda.

“We, the people of Asogli are grateful to the government for not leaving us out of the national development agenda. So far, the progress of work on the Ho-Denu Road, the dual carriageway, and the Ho-Asiku-Adome roads, attest to the fact that the government has the people of Ho, and to a large extent, the Volta Region at heart,” Togbe Howusu stated.

The durbar climaxed nearly two months of activities following the launch of the festival on August 12 on the theme “United in Purpose, Investing in People and Infrastructure for Sustainable National Development.”

The celebration was preceded by traditional rites including Dzawuwu, the offering of first fruits to ancestors and deities, the Asogli Teyuyru Carnival, Mount Adaklu exploration, youth empowerment session, health walk and the Summit of Ewe Chiefs.

The event featured cultural performances from groups from the Volta, Oti and Northern Regions and from the Republic of Togo, and brought together chiefs, diplomats, diasporans, youth groups and residents at the Jubilee Park.

President John Dramani Mahama, who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Dr Julius Debrah, reaffirmed government’s commitment to the development of the Volta Region, with focus on youth employment, support for women entrepreneurs and regional economic collaboration.
