Torgbui Dayifo Atsiblaglo II Commends Health Service For Active Participation In 2026 Kidney Awareness Program

Srogboe, Oct. 4, 24HourNews – Torgbui Dayifo Atsiblaglo II has commended the Ghana Health Service for its active participation in the just-ended 2026 Kidney Awareness Program held at the Srogboe Community Centre in the Anloga District.

The program was held under the theme “Protect Your Kidney, Protect Your Life.”

Addressing participants, Torgbui Dayifo Atsiblaglo II cautioned the youth against the indiscriminate intake of medication without doctor’s prescription, describing it as a major risk factor for kidney disease.

He called for sustained public education and routine medical screening to help address the increasing cases of kidney-related conditions in communities.

“We must deepen awareness, encourage routine check-ups, and support public education in every community,” he said.

Torgbui Dayifo Atsiblaglo II further urged the public, especially the youth, to adopt healthy lifestyles to reduce their risk of developing chronic kidney disease.

He outlined key preventive measures including proper management of underlying conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, adhering strictly to medical advice and prescribed medications, eating a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables, avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol intake, reducing salt consumption, and avoiding prolonged use of over-the-counter painkillers without medical guidance.

He emphasized that adopting these healthy habits remains crucial to protecting kidney health and improving overall well-being.
