Shatta Wale Champions Volta Unity, Hails Edem And Stonebwoy As Regional Icons

Accra, Oct. 4, 24HourNews – Dancehall icon Shatta Wale has called for stronger unity among musicians from the Volta Region, naming himself, Edem and Stonebwoy as leading forces pushing the region’s musical identity.

The celebrated artiste made the call while performing at the just-ended MoMo Fest and Shatta Fest, an event that drew thousands of music fans.

Addressing the crowd between performances, Shatta Wale said Volta has produced some of Ghana’s most influential music talents and the time has come for them to close ranks and push a common agenda.

He singled out Edem and Stonebwoy for praise, acknowledging their immense contribution to Ghanaian music and how they have carried the Volta flag high on both local and international stages.

According to him, when Volta artistes support each other and work together, they can create a powerful force that not only elevates individual careers but also projects the Volta Region as a hub of creativity.

His comments have sparked renewed conversations within the creative space about the need for collaboration over rivalry among Volta-based artistes.

Industry watchers say such unity could open bigger doors for younger talents from the region who are struggling to break into the mainstream.

Shatta Wale, who traces his roots to the Volta Region, has on several occasions advocated for greater recognition of the region’s contribution to Ghana’s entertainment industry.
