Newly Trained Hairdressers At Mafi Adidome Receive Start-up Support From Dela Defia Foundation

Mafi Adidome, Oct. 4, 24HourNews – Graduating hairdressing apprentices at Mafi Adidome in the Central Tongu District have received a major boost to start their own businesses.

The support came from the Deputy Women Organizer for Central Tongu, Yvette Emefa Gbeve, through the Dela Defia Foundation.

At a graduation ceremony held today to celebrate apprentices who completed their training, the foundation presented each graduand with a hair dryer to serve as a start-up tool.

Madam Gbeve said the gesture was to move beyond mere celebration and provide tangible support that can help the young women establish themselves.

According to her, empowering young artisans requires giving them the basic tools to turn their skills into income-generating ventures.

She thanked the Dela Defia Foundation for funding the donation and reaffirmed her commitment to youth and women empowerment in the district.

“We are not just celebrating their graduation today, we are investing in their future. This small support can help them start something meaningful for themselves,” she noted.

The graduands, who were full of joy, thanked Madam Gbeve and the foundation, saying the dryers will reduce the burden of raising capital to set up their own shops.
