Media Tasked to Tell Authentic Anlo Story as Hogbetsotso 2026 Launched  

Tegbi, Oct. 1, 24HourNews – The media has been challenged to become ambassadors of Anlo culture as the Anlo State outdoor programmes for Hogbetsotso Za 2026.

The official media launch came off at Eli Beach Resort, Tegbi, and was attended by a host of traditional rulers and state officials.

Togbi Agbesi Awusu II, Awadada of Anlo Dukor, chaired the launch which set the tone for this year’s festival.

Top traditional leaders present included His Excellency Dan Abodakpi, Awoamezitor of Anlo, Togbi Gbodzi III, Dusi Fiaga, Togbi Nyaxo Tamakloe VI, Mia Fiaga, and Togbi Zewu IV, who is Chairman of the Hogbetsotso 2026 Local Planning Committee.

 

The launch also attracted Municipal and District Chief Executives, senior police officers from Keta and Anloga, Fiawo, Mamawo, Agbotaduawo, and a large section of the media.

In a keynote address, the Planning Committee described the media as a bridge between Anlo’s heritage and the global community. The Committee urged journalists, photographers, videographers and digital creators to use their platforms to tell the true and positive story of Anlo.

They noted that the 2026 celebration will focus on showcasing the historical lessons from the Anlo migration from Notsie and how values such as courage, unity and strategic thinking remain relevant today.

The festival is on the theme: “Anlo, Our Heritage and Our Values: Striving to Build One Ghana for a Better Tomorrow.”

According to the organisers, the theme is not just about celebrating identity, but about using culture as a tool for building a peaceful, united and prosperous Ghana.

They called for peace, unity and active participation from all citizens and friends of Anlo to make Hogbetsotso 2026 a success.
