Ketu North MCE To Visit Family Of Woman Killed In Dzodze-Penyi Big Push Road Project

Penyi, Sept. 25, 24HourNews – The leadership of the Ketu North Municipal Assembly will later today visit the bereaved family of Madam Mariama Gbemu, who lost her life in an incident linked to the ongoing Big Push road construction between Dzodze and Penyi on Wednesday morning.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Martin Amenaki, is expected to lead the delegation, which will include staff of the Assembly, to Penyi to commiserate with the family.

Sources close to the Assembly say the visit is to express condolences to the bereaved family, sympathise with them in their moment of grief and assure them of the Assembly’s support.

The death of Madam Gbemu has thrown the Penyi community into mourning as residents await details on the circumstances surrounding the incident.

While the Dzodze-Penyi stretch forms part of the government’s Big Push road infrastructure agenda aimed at improving connectivity in the municipality, residents have called for enhanced safety measures at the construction site to protect lives.

The Assembly is expected to engage the contractor and relevant agencies to ensure stricter adherence to safety protocols to prevent any future occurrence.
