Ehi, Sept. 24, 24HourNews – A new chapter for educational support in the Weta Traditional Area has been opened following the official outdooring of the Mama Agorwose III Royal Foundation.
The foundation, established by Mama Agorwose III, Divisional Queen Mother of Weta-Anyigbey, was launched on Wednesday, 23rd September, 2026, at Ehi M/A Basic School in the Ketu North Municipality. The ceremony attracted a large gathering from within and outside the community.
Dignitaries present included Torgbui Dzeble Adukpo IV of Ehi, Mamaga Ablewor IV, Paramount Queen Mother of Weta Traditional Area, other traditional leaders, assembly members, classroom teachers, health professionals, parents and school children who cheered the Queen Mother for her visionary initiative.
Addressing the gathering, Mama Agorwose III explained that her decision to establish the foundation was born out of her long-standing passion for child welfare and education. She said she wants to create a permanent platform that will address the learning needs of deprived pupils and give every child a fair chance to succeed.
According to her, the foundation will not be limited to the distribution of stationery but will in the coming months expand its activities to include mentorship programmes, promotion of girl-child education and campaigns against social vices, including drug abuse.
She emphasized that education remains the most powerful tool for transforming lives and transforming communities, and called on stakeholders to support the foundation to reach more schools.
Residents who attended the launch described the initiative as a legacy project that will complement government efforts at improving the quality of education in Ketu North and the entire Weta Traditional Area.
They commended the Queen Mother for her commitment to community development and expressed optimism that the foundation will make a lasting impact on the lives of children.
