Dzodze, Sept. 24, 24HourNews – Football commentator, Francis Agboyibor, has criticized Nukunu Football Club’s decision to adopt the Ho Sports Stadium as its temporary home venue for the upcoming Division One League season.
Agboyibor, who writes under the pen name Blackgate, argued that the Ho Sports Stadium pitch is not befitting of the brand and image Nukunu FC is building.
According to him, the club deserves a better venue than the Ho Sports Stadium, which he described as having nothing good to write home about in terms of its pitch condition.
“There is absolutely nothing good to write home about the Ho Sports Stadium pitch. With the kind of branding associated with the club, taking your home games to Ho is a backward move by the top hierarchy of the club,” he stated.
He suggested that the WAFA Park in Sogakope would have been a more suitable alternative for the Dzodze-based side.
Agboyibor further expressed concern for the players and technical team, noting that they will be forced to play on a pitch that, in his view, should not have been licensed to host high-level competitions such as Division One League matches.
“The innocent players and coaches will now be forced to go and play on a pitch that shouldn’t even be licensed to host high level football matches like the Division One League games in the first place,” he said.
He also questioned the club licensing process, describing it as a disgrace for approving the Ho Sports Stadium to host league matches.
“The Club licensing is a big disgrace that’s why they even approved the venue to host league matches. The Ho Sports Stadium pitch is a complete mess. Nukunu FC shouldn’t associate itself with a venue that is not befitting of the image of the brand they are building,” Agboyibor added.
Nukunu FC earlier announced the Ho Sports Stadium as its home venue after DZOSEC Park in Dzodze and the Akatsi College of Education Park failed to meet Club Licensing requirements.
