Ehi, Sept. 24, 24HourNews – Learning is set to become easier for pupils of Ehi M/A Basic School in the Ketu North Municipality following a large donation of educational materials by the Mama Agorwose III Royal Foundation.
The donation, which formed a key part of the official launch of the foundation on Tuesday, September 23, 2026, saw the distribution of essential academic tools to help pupils stay in school and learn effectively.
Pupils received six boxes of exercise books for their daily school work, while eighty pieces of notebooks and four boxes of pens were handed over to improve writing and note-taking in class.
To help with school attendance and organization, the foundation also gave out twenty-four pieces of durable school bags to selected needy pupils who previously carried their books in polythene bags.
For mathematics and practical subjects, fifty pieces of mathematical sets were provided alongside six boxes of sharpener and eraser to make lessons more practical and engaging. Kindergarten pupils were not left out as they received special KG books to support early literacy and numeracy development.
In a unique addition to the educational support, the foundation distributed drug abuse campaign tote bags, caps and t-shirts to educate pupils and teachers on the dangers of substance abuse and to encourage positive lifestyle choices among the youth.
Speaking during the presentation, Mama Agorwose III, Divisional Queen Mother of Weta-Anyigbey and Weta Traditional Area, said the donation was motivated by her desire to ensure that no child is held back from education because of lack of basic learning tools.
She noted that many brilliant children in rural communities struggle to stay in school due to the inability of parents to afford exercise books, pens and school bags.
Teachers at the school expressed gratitude to the Queen Mother, saying the items arrived at a critical time when many pupils were in dire need of learning materials. According to them, the support would go a long way to motivate pupils, boost attendance, and improve overall academic performance.
Parents and assembly members who witnessed the donation also commended Mama Agorwose III for extending a helping hand to the school and called on other well-meaning individuals and organizations to emulate her example.
The Mama Agorwose III Royal Foundation says it is committed to supporting students and promoting academic excellence across the Weta Traditional Area and beyond, with future interventions targeting mentorship and girl-child education.
