NHIA Signs MoU With University of Ghana To Deepen Research and Policy Collaboration

Accra, Sept. 22, 24HourNews – The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority, NHIA, Dr. Senanu Kwesi Djokoto, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with the University of Ghana on behalf of the Chief Executive of the Authority, Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe.

The MoU is aimed at deepening cooperation between the two institutions in the areas of research, knowledge exchange and evidence-based policy development.

Speaking after the signing, Dr. Djokoto noted that the partnership will enhance the Authority’s capacity to generate actionable insights, strengthen healthcare financing and improve service delivery for all Ghanaians.

He added that the collaboration reaffirms the shared commitment of both institutions to innovation and collaboration in pursuit of Universal Health Coverage, UHC.

The partnership is expected to leverage the academic expertise and research strength of the University of Ghana to support the NHIA in shaping policies that will make health insurance more sustainable and accessible.

The agreement marks another step in the NHIA’s efforts to build strategic partnerships with academic institutions to drive reforms within the health insurance sector.
