Anloga, Sept. 22, 24HourNews – The District Chief Executive for Anloga, Sandra Seyram Kpedor, together with the District Director of Social Welfare, has distributed livelihood support items to 55 persons with disabilities in the Anloga District.

The beneficiaries received items including cash cheques, industrial sewing machines, deep freezers, crutches, wheelchairs, white canes, hearing aids, among other essential items.

According to the DCE, the initiative is aimed at empowering the beneficiaries with the necessary means to establish or strengthen their own livelihoods, become more economically independent and improve their quality of life.

She noted that the Assembly remains committed to ensuring that no one is left behind in the development process of the district.

“We remain committed to ensuring that no one is left behind. We will continue to support and create opportunities for persons with disabilities to participate meaningfully in the development of our communities,” she stated.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the District Assembly and the Department of Social Welfare for the support, pledging to put the items to good use to better their lives.

The distribution forms part of the Assembly’s continuous efforts to promote inclusion and social protection for vulnerable groups in the district.
