Accra, Sept. 21, 24HourNews – Head Coach of Nukunu FC, Coach Christian Chibueze (Christian Chibueze – Mourinho), says he is delighted to be strong and healthy to kick off a new season with the club in the Universal Merchant Bank UMB Division One League.
Nukunu FC started the 2025/2026 season with a hard-fought 0-0 draw away to Nania FC.
Reacting to the result, Coach Chibueze admitted that although the team wanted all three points, picking a valuable clean sheet and a point away from home is a solid foundation to build on.
“We wanted all 3 points, but a valuable clean sheet and a point away from home is a solid foundation to build on in this league,” he noted.
According to him, the team showed character and discipline in their first game and will continue to improve as the season progresses.
“We have started with character and discipline and will continue to improve as it’s work in progress,” he said.
The Head Coach also expressed gratitude to the club’s supporters, management, players and the good people of Ketu North for believing in the dream.
“To our loyal supporters around the globe, management, players, and the good people of Ketu North – thank you for believing in this dream. Your support is our 12th man, and we felt it even away from home,” he stated.
Coach Chibueze emphasized that Nukunu FC is not just in the league to participate but to compete and push for promotion.
“We are hungry, focused, and ready to make the club proud. We are not just playing to participate, we are playing to compete, to inspire, and to go up,” he added.
He said focus now shifts to their first home game of the season and called on fans to rally behind the team.
“One game down, focus now turns to our first home game. Let’s do it together! We are Nukunu FC. PossibleTogether!”
