Accra, Sept. 18, 24HourNews – The Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Hon. Eric Edem Agbana, has received the leadership and members of the Ketu North Queen Mothers Association who paid a courtesy visit to his office in Parliament.
The MP described it as an honour to welcome the Queen Mothers in their elegant royal regalia, noting their important role as custodians of culture and key stakeholders in community development.
Hon. Agbana was joined by special guests including Madam Obuobia Darko-Opoku, Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund; Ms. Joan Selasie Ahiawordor, Deputy CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP); and Ms. Dzifa Tegah, Deputy National Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Discussions during the visit focused on developments in Ketu North and pressing challenges confronting communities in the constituency. Key among the issues raised were falling standards in education, healthcare challenges, increasing drug abuse among young people, and the need for stronger community-based interventions to address them.
The meeting also reflected on the importance of unity, collaboration and collective leadership in tackling these challenges and advancing the development agenda of the constituency.
Hon. Agbana emphasized the need for continued partnership beyond political and institutional boundaries to find practical and sustainable solutions for the people of Ketu North.
He noted that as stakeholders in the development of the constituency, traditional leaders, political actors and state agencies must work together to improve livelihoods and secure a better future for the next generation.
“Together, we can advance the development of Ketu North,” he said.
