North Tongu, Sept. 17, 24HourNews – Youth activist and grassroots mobilizer, Belko Abu has officially declared his intention to contest for the Youth Organizer position in the North Tongu constituency.
Belko, who has been actively involved in party activities at the branch and constituency levels for several years, says his decision to contest is borne out of a desire to give the youth a stronger voice and re-energize youth participation in the constituency.
According to close associates, he has been at the forefront of youth mobilization, community engagement and electoral campaigns in North Tongu, earning him respect among both the youth and the party elders.
Speaking ahead of his formal declaration, Belko said the youth remain the backbone of the party and need to be properly organized, empowered and given opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the development of North Tongu.
“Our youth have the energy and ideas, what they need is leadership that will listen, unite them and create the platform for them to work. That is what I want to offer,” he noted.
His campaign is expected to focus on five key pillars – unity among the youth, skills training and empowerment, sustainable job opportunities for the youth, effective communication between the youth wing and the constituency executives, and a robust mobilization strategy ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Several youth groups within the constituency have already welcomed his intention, describing him as approachable, hardworking and a team player who understands the challenges facing young people in the area.
Belko Abu is expected to officially launch his campaign and unveil his full vision for the youth wing in the coming days as he begins his tour across the various zones in North Tongu.
