
Accra – Aug. 29 – 24HourNews – The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has contained a bulk gas leakage following an accident involving a gas tanker at Fiaso on the Techiman-Nkoranza Highway.
The incident occurred on August 27, 2026, at 0935 hours, when a bulk tanker carrying 4,000kg of gas was involved in an accident leading to gas leakage.

Fire crew DPT FS 547 stationed at Techiman with a crew of six, driven by Sub Officer Kusi Collins and under the command of Assistant Officer Awal Mohammed, was immediately dispatched to the scene as the base pump. DPT FS 509 stationed at Nkoranza, also with a crew of six, responded as the second pump.
Upon arrival at 1023 hours and after assessment, the crew halted vehicular movement and tactically controlled the situation using foam concentrate to close the leakage.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Nkoranza South, Hon. Godfred Dapaa, was present at the scene.
No casualties were recorded.
