Ghana’s Democracy Is Doing Well – Interior Minister Assures Russian Ambassador.

Accra – Aug. 29 – 24HourNews – The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has assured the Russian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Sergei Berdnikov, that Ghana’s democracy is doing well.

He gave the assurance when the Russian Ambassador paid a courtesy call on him at the Ministry of the Interior (MINTER) in Accra on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

According to the Minister, since Ghana started practicing democracy, power has changed from one government to another smoothly and without any problem because the good people of Ghana appreciate peace, even though democracy comes with challenges.

“No country lives in isolation and it is therefore important to collaborate with other countries and share ideas and information that will continue to help bring peace and security to the country,” Hon. Muntaka stated.

The Minister acknowledged the long-standing good relationship between Ghana and Russia, which dates back to the era of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, and called for enhanced collaboration between the two countries in the areas of training and other fields of mutual interest.

On his part, H.E. Sergei Berdnikov commended the Minister for his leadership and focus on security in the country.

He expressed gratitude to the Minister for the warm reception accorded him and called for inter-state cooperation in security that will benefit both Ghana and Russia.
