
Accra – Aug. 28 – 24HourNews – The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has brought a commercial fire at Mallam Market under control, preventing it from spreading to adjoining properties.
The Dansoman Fire Station responded to the incident on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, after a distress call was received through Fire Master Control at 1601hrs.

According to the Greater Accra Regional PRO, a crew was dispatched at 1602hrs and arrived at the scene at 1621hrs to meet the fire still in progress. Firefighters immediately commenced operations and brought the blaze under control at 1707hrs, and fully extinguished it at 1715hrs.
Empty food packaging boxes were completely destroyed in the fire. No casualties were recorded.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials say the prompt intervention of the GNFS helped contain the incident and protect surrounding businesses.
