E/R: GNFS Deploys AFCAS Digital Fire Safety System.

Koforidua – Aug. 28 – 24HourNews – The Eastern Regional Fire Command has commenced the deployment of the Automated Fire Compliance and Safety System (AFCAS).

The training was held at the Regional Headquarters on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, and facilitated by Mr. Mawuli Babanawu, Mr. Ellis Ashie, and Mr. Selorm Abrantie.

The exercise follows a nationwide programme that trained 983 officers from five Regional Commands.

AFCAS replaces the old manual, paper-based inspection process with a faster, transparent, and technology-driven system. Key features include digital certification, thermal imaging inspections, real-time compliance monitoring, 24-hour surveillance, and digital tracking of fire safety equipment.

Officers were trained on designated devices and grouped into four specialisations: Certification, Secretariat, Zonal Inspection, and Tagging Officers.

Under ACFOII Emmanuel Ofori Asamoah, the Command aims to deliver more efficient and transparent fire safety services.

With full implementation, AFCAS is expected to enhance compliance, support data-driven decisions, improve revenue collection, and strengthen public safety across the region.
