GNFS Contains Commercial Fire At South Odorkor.

Accra – Aug. 27 – 24HourNews – Firefighters from the Dansoman Fire Station have contained a commercial fire at South Odorkor, near the New Generation Chapel, in the early hours of Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Greater Accra Region said the alert was received through Fire Master Control at 0130 hours, with the crew dispatched at 0131 hours.

The team arrived at the scene at 0139 hours to find a chop bar in house number A175-BO engulfed in flames.

According to the GNFS, suppression tactics were immediately deployed, bringing the fire under control at 0158 hours and fully extinguishing it at 0242 hours, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the house.

The fire partially destroyed three 15kg gas cylinders, one 9kg cylinder, a refrigerator and two ECG meters.

No casualties or injuries were recorded. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
