Hon. Gomashie Calls for Stronger Partnership to Unlock Ghana’s Creative Arts Potential.

 

Accra – Aug. 26 – 24HourNews – Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has called for stronger collaboration between government, the private sector and creative arts practitioners to unlock the full economic potential of Ghana’s creative industry.

 

Speaking at a stakeholder engagement in Accra, the Minister stressed the need to listen to the concerns of practitioners, strengthen institutions, improve funding and infrastructure, protect intellectual property, and create more opportunities for Ghanaian creative products to reach global markets.

The Creative Arts Agency also highlighted a number of ongoing initiatives, including a GH¢20 million seed funding for the sector, improved registration and licensing, skills development programmes, welfare support for creatives and a Creative Arts Housing Project.

 

Stakeholders at the engagement discussed key challenges facing the industry, including limited funding, intellectual property rights violations, inadequate infrastructure, market access constraints and the need for professional development.
