‘We Are Solidly Behind You’ — Christian Council Backs Ghana Medical Trust Fund.  

 

 

Accra – Aug. 25 – 24HourNews – The Christian Council of Ghana has pledged its full support for the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) and promised to help champion its life-saving mandate across the country.

 

The Executive Secretary of the Council, Rev. Dr. Cyril G. K. Fayose, described the Trust Fund’s mission as “the work of God,” likening it to the healing ministry of Jesus Christ that brings relief, hope and healing to the sick.

He praised the Administrator of the Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, and her team for the impact made within just a year in office and pledged that the Council would become a “crusader” for the Trust Fund.

 

Rev. Dr. Fayose said the Council will leverage its network of churches across the country to create awareness and mobilize donations to support the Fund.

 

Ms. Darko-Opoku, on her part, welcomed the support and stressed that “No Ghanaian should lose their life simply because they cannot afford the medical care they need.”

 

She called for continued partnership between faith-based organizations and the Trust Fund to ensure access to healthcare for all, especially the vulnerable.
