UN Ghana Facilitates High-Level Dialogue Between EC And Development Partners.

 

Accra – Aug. 25 – 24HourNews – The United Nations in Ghana has facilitated a high-level engagement between the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana and Development Partners under the Heads of Cooperation framework.

 

The meeting, led by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission and UN Resident Coordinator, Zia Choudhury, brought together Heads of Agencies, Heads of Cooperation and representatives of various development partners for an open and constructive dialogue on key electoral matters.

 

Deliberations focused on critical issues including political financing, youth engagement, women’s participation in elections, violence against women in politics, electoral security, transparency, inclusion and other priorities essential to strengthening Ghana’s democratic processes.

The interactive session allowed participants to exchange views, seek clarifications and gain deeper insights into the EC’s work and priorities. It also opened avenues for further bilateral engagements between the EC and individual development partners to explore targeted areas of cooperation and support.

 

The UN in Ghana reaffirmed its commitment to working with national institutions and partners to promote inclusive, peaceful, transparent and credible electoral processes that strengthen democratic governance and leave no one behind.
