President Mahama Donates 33-Seater Bus To Ghana Prisons Service To Boost Operations.

 

Accra – Aug. 25 – 24HourNews – The Ghana Prisons Service has taken delivery of a brand-new 33-seater Eicher bus donated by President John Dramani Mahama.

 

The vehicle was handed over on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the Prisons Headquarters in Accra by the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak (MP), on behalf of the President.

 

The donation fulfils a commitment made by President Mahama during the commissioning ceremony of the Damongo Camp Prison.

 

Director-General of Prisons, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie (Esq), who received the keys, thanked the President for his continued support to the Service and commended the Interior Minister for facilitating the presentation.

 

She pledged that the bus would be transferred to the intended facility and utilized strictly for its designated purpose to improve service delivery.

 

In attendance were the Minister for Energy, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, Deputy Interior Minister Hon. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, officials of the Ministry of the Interior, and senior and junior officers of the Prisons Service.

 

According to officials, the new bus will significantly enhance the Service’s transport capacity and operational activities.
