GIABA Bids Farewell To Director General Edwin W. Harris Jr.  

 

Dakar – Aug. 25 – 24HourNews – The Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA) on Friday, August 21, 2026, organized a farewell cocktail in Dakar in honour of its Director General, Mr. Edwin W. Harris Jr., ahead of the end of his tenure on August 31, 2026.

 

The ceremony was an opportunity to celebrate Mr. Harris’s commitment at the helm of GIABA since assuming office on August 1, 2022.

During his four-year tenure, his leadership contributed to advancing GIABA’s mission in service of member states, strengthening the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, and enhancing the institution’s visibility in West Africa and beyond.

 

The event highlighted his achievements and contributions during his mandate.
