Council of State Member for Volta Woos American Billionaire Investor for Volta Region.

Accra – Aug. 22 – 24HourNews – The Council of State Member for the Volta Region, H.E Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple, has held high-level investment talks with American multibillionaire investor, philanthropist and researcher, Dr. John P. Rochon.

Dr. Rochon, who has more than 40 years experience in finance, business strategy, investment, marketing and political strategy, is the founder of Richmont, a private investment and business holding company, and the Rochon Family Office, a multi-billion-dollar single-family office based in the USA.

He is also the former Board Chairman of Mary Kay Cosmetics, a global brand that grew to serve about six million women customers worldwide.

The meeting, which also had in attendance the CEO of Catalyst Green LLC, focused on investment opportunities in the Volta Region, with particular interest in lithium exploration and the broader potential of the Region’s natural resources.

In a post after the engagement, H.E Kwamigah-Atokple described the meeting as refreshing and said it forms part of his broader vision to go beyond the traditional advisory role of the Council of State.

“One of the promises I made in my bid to serve as a Member of the Council of State was that my role would not just be limited to the traditional advisory role. I also believe that public service must create opportunities for economic transformation,” he stated.

According to him, that means actively seeking out credible investors, pitching business ideas that can create jobs, develop local capacity and, most importantly, add value to the raw materials found in the region rather than exporting them in their raw form.

“The Volta Region possesses enormous economic potential. Our responsibility is to help translate that potential into sustainable investment, productive industries and opportunities for our people,” he added.

H.E Kwamigah-Atokple also lauded Dr. Rochon’s philanthropic record, noting that although he has never been to Africa, he has demonstrated strong interest in the continent by providing financial support to Malawi to support hospital projects.

“This is the kind of global experience, investment interest and philanthropy we must tap into for the benefit of our region,” he stressed.
