Aflao, Aug. 16, 24HourNews – Development and Youth Chief of Aflao Traditional Area, Akonta Felix Akakpo – Torgbui Tenuvi II, has presented GH¢10,000 to support Ketu South Municipality’s participation in the 55th Inter-Districts Sports Festival.

The amount was delivered earlier today through Mr. Ferguson Ahorlu to Mr. Stanley Kwawuvi, the Sports Coordinator for Ketu South Municipality.
The festival is scheduled to take place at Akatsi Senior High Technical School from Saturday, August 15, 2026 to Friday, August 21, 2026.
According to Torgbui Tenuvi II, the donation follows a request for support from the Directorate a few weeks ago. He said the contribution is aimed at helping Ketu South’s young athletes defend the overall championship title they won in 2025 after securing 4 out of 8 trophies.
“Education remains my foremost priority. Over the years, I have endeavored to invest in initiatives that seek to transform the academic and social trajectory of children in Ketu South. However, it is equally critical to recognize that co-curricular activities, particularly sports, are vital avenues for nurturing God-given talents and fostering holistic development,” he stated.
He noted that with government resources often insufficient, individuals and stakeholders must complement state efforts to support school sports, which he described as the foundation for the nation’s future sporting excellence.
Torgbui Tenuvi II sent best wishes to the entire Ketu South contingent of 105 athletes who will compete in Volleyball – Boys and Girls, Soccer – Boys and Girls, Athletics – Boys and Girls, Handball – Boys, and Table Tennis – Boys. He said he had earlier encouraged them during a video call before their departure.

“May you compete with fortitude, unity, and sportsmanship. Make Ketu South proud,” he added.
