Mamaga Ablewor IV Impact Foundation Launches Skills Empowerment Initiative In Weta.

Weta, Aug. 16, 24Hour News – The Mamaga Ablewor IV Impact Foundation has launched the “Skills Empowerment Initiative 2026” in the Weta Traditional Area of the Ketu North Municipality in the Volta Region.

The initiative, spearheaded by Mamaga Ablewor IV, Paramount Queen Mother of Weta Traditional Area, is aimed at reducing unemployment and preserving the rich textile heritage of the area.

A statement from the Foundation said the program would offer free training in Batik Making, Marbling, Tie and Dye, and Soap Making to youth, women, and persons with disabilities.

It said trainees would be provided with free training materials, start-up dye kits for the top 30 graduates, certificates of participation, and the opportunity to exhibit their products during the 2026 Weta and Ehi Annual Festivals.

The training is scheduled to take place in September during the Ehi Nutome Galiza and in October during the Weta Nutome Rice Festival across major communities in the Weta Traditional Area.

Interested persons have been urged to register by September 5 for the September edition and October 10 for the October edition through telephone number 0247746945, the residence of Mamaga Ablewor IV at Ehi, or through Assembly Members, Chiefs, Queen Mothers and Youth Leaders.

The Foundation is also appealing to NGOs, corporate institutions and philanthropists to sponsor trainees at GH¢800 each.

The theme for the initiative is “Empowering Hands, Enriching Weta”.
