Volta Regional House of Chiefs pays courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

Accra, Aug. 12, 24HourNews – The Volta Regional House of Chiefs, led by its President and Paramount Chief of the Anfoega Traditional Area, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, at the Ministry in Accra.

The visit was to congratulate the Minister on his birthday and on his appointment as Minister for Foreign Affairs, and to strengthen relations between the traditional leadership of the Volta Region and the Ministry.

Welcoming the delegation, Hon. Ablakwa expressed appreciation to the Chiefs for their visit and warm congratulatory messages. He described their presence at the Ministry as a great honour and privilege, noting that the Chiefs had travelled to Accra purposely to pay the courtesy call.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV commended Hon. Ablakwa for his dedicated service to Ghana and his continued commitment to the development of his constituency and the Volta Region.

The President of the House of Chiefs noted that the Volta Region had over the years faced challenges regarding its share of national resources and development opportunities. He, however, acknowledged significant positive changes in recent times, which he attributed partly to the Minister’s efforts to ensure the interests of the region receive due attention.

Togbe Tepre Hodo IV further praised the Minister for maintaining a strong connection with the Volta Region despite his demanding national responsibilities. He encouraged him to continue championing the interests of the region while serving the broader interests of Ghana.

The engagement reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between traditional leadership and government in advancing development in the Volta Region and Ghana as a whole.
