Dzodze, Aug. 12, 24HourNews – The Municipal Chief Executive for Ketu North Municipal, Hon. Martin Amenaki, has presented economic and educational support items to 16 persons living with disabilities in the municipality.
The presentation, held in Dzodze on Tuesday morning, was funded through the 5% allocation of the District Assembly Common Fund.
Hon. Amenaki said the initiative forms part of President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to social inclusion and ensuring that no one is left behind.
A total of 16 persons with disabilities from across Ketu North are beneficiaries of the support.
Out of the sixteen (16) beneficiaries:
– Three (3) were provided with a metal container, a knitting machine, radiator repair tools, and barbering equipment.- Two (2) received cassava grating machines.
– Two (2) others were given industrial sewing machines.
– One (1)beneficiary was presented with a corn mill machine to be installed by the Assembly.
– Two (2) specially manufactured tricycle motors were presented.
– Two (2) laptops with Braille paper were given to persons with visual impairment.
– One (1) tricycle was also presented.
Hon. Amenaki stated that the items were carefully selected to create sustainable livelihoods and promote economic independence among persons with disabilities.
He assured that the Assembly will continue to monitor and support all beneficiaries to ensure maximum impact.
“Together, we are building an inclusive and progressive Ketu North,” he added.
