For Sessinam, the pageant is more than a competition. Her team describes her as an ambassador tasked with projecting the identity, language, music, and traditions of the Volta people to Ghana and the world.

“ She is stepping forward as an ambassador of Volta’s identity — a custodian of its stories, festivals, language, music, and traditions that have been preserved across generations,” a statement from her team said.
