Accra – 24Hour News – August 4, 2026 – Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority, Dr. Senanu Kwesi Djokoto, has reaffirmed that government remains committed to upholding the rule of law while ensuring that accountability processes respect constitutional protections.
Speaking on MetroTV’s _Good Morning Ghana_ programme earlier today, Dr. Djokoto addressed public concerns around ongoing accountability measures.
“The government’s position has been consistent: no one is above the law, but no one is below the protection of the law either. Accountability must be pursued within the Constitution,” he stated.
Dr. Djokoto emphasized that the administration’s approach to governance is guided by due process and fairness. According to him, while citizens and public officials must be held responsible for their actions, such processes must not undermine fundamental rights guaranteed under the 1992 Constitution.
He noted that striking this balance is critical to maintaining public trust in state institutions and ensuring that the fight against impunity does not itself become arbitrary.
The NHIA Deputy CEO added that government institutions, including the NHIA, continue to align their operations with constitutional principles as they deliver services to Ghanaians.
His comments come amid heightened public discourse on transparency, governance, and the need for institutions to act within legal bounds.
